FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How to use WordTracker?
A: From the WordTracker Home Page click the word the TRIAL in the gray navigation menu going across the top. Enter your name and email address (do use a legitimate email address as it will send you your results and it is handy to refer to). Click the Start the Trial button. Then the next page calls you by name, go to the bottom of the gray square and Click to start the trial. STEP 1:Here you enter a search term or keyword phrase. I suggest that you only use two to three words if the phrase is fairly long. Then click proceed. STEP 2: This will prompt you to scroll down, here you will see the keywords you entered as number 1, and 14 other suggestions that may be relevant to your keyword phrase. You will note the page is divided in half. Click your keyword on the left, and a table will pop up on the right. You will also note there is a rectangle at the bottom center with the words Keywords in Basket 0/30. Your goal is to add as many relevant keywords to your basket as you can. You can only add keywords to this basket by clicking on words in the table on the right side. On the tabel on the right you will note after the keyword phrase the columns for COUNT and PREDICT, these are the amount of clicks in the last 60 days on the MSN search Engine (Count), and the prediction how often it will be searched for over the next 6- days (predict). If there is a phrase that you think might offer more keywords, click the DIG or shovel icon to the right of that word. Once you have exhausted the keywords on the right table that pertain to your site, look again to the left to see if there is another relevant term there, if there is, click on it and it will bring up a new table on the right. Once again, click the keywords that pertain. Go back and forth until you either max-out the basket with all 30 words, or you can't find any more useable phrases. Now, in the lower right corner, click STEP 3. This just gives you the number of searches from most to least. Scroll down and go to STEP 4. This will take a moment to generate, and will give you a table with your keywords ranked according to their KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) number. This number compares how often a search term is searched for and how much competition there is. The higher generally the better. A KEI above 10 is okay, above 50 is better, over 100 very good and they call anything over 400 a gift. This should help you find good keywords to either optimize a blog site or web page around.
Q:
How do I reduce a picture to put on my Bright
Builder website or eBay?
A: Most people
don't realize they have a handy dandy program for reducing pictures already
on their computer. This is the PAINT Program.
To find it, click the START button and put your arrow on top of ALL
PROGRAMS . A menu should pop up, on the first column put your arrow on ACCESSORIES.
A new smaller menu should pop out, mid-way down you should see PAINT, right
click on that.
First, bring up the picture you want to reduce the size of by click FILE in
the upper left corner, then click OPEN and locate and open up your picture.
It will appear in the upper left corner or in most instances, take up
the entire screen. Once the picture is in the program, click on the
workd IMAGE just right of File previously clicked. From Image click
STRETCH/SKEW. This will pop up
a new little window with Horizontal at 100% and Vertical at 100%. Enter a
percentage of the size you would like to reduce the picture to, if you want
the picture 60% smaller, then you would enter 40% as it will take the picture
to 40% of what you are currently viewing. Enter this same number into both
Horizontal and Vertical. Leave Skew alone!! Now click the OK button. The picture
will reduce. If the picture comes out too small, you can click EDIT then UNDO
and start over. If the picture isn't small enough, click IMAGE and STRETCH/SKEW
and reduce it again, bear in mind the second reduction number you enter will
be a percentage of the picture size you are currently viewing.
Now that you have the picture the size you want, Click FILE and SAVE AS. You
may want to retain the original size picture, so simply change the name, possibly
using the word SMALL in the name to let you know this is the smaller picture.
Using PAINT to change the
format of your picture:
You can also use PAINT to change the formatting of your image. You may
have had a picture with a .bmp extension
and the builder will not accept it as it wants it in either .jpg,
.gif or .png. To change this, bring the picture up in your PAINT
program, then click FILE, then SAVE AS. In the little window that has
popped up, along the bottom next to SAVE AS TYPE you will see the current
format. Click on that and it should give you a drop down menu. Select
from that menu the format you desire, usually .jpg, then click SAVE. You should
now be able to upload that to your builder.
